Aiden REALLY walking

Aiden has been walking much better this week and I've spent the past 2 days and nights trying to get good video of it. This is take 49! Every time I would give up and do something else like wash dishes or something, I'd hear Andy getting all excited, then "Did you see that? Was the camera on?" Of course it wasn't! Well, finally a little patience and perseverance paid off and I was able to get this on camera....

Aiden walking

Aiden has really gotten the hang of walking over the last couple of days. He is walking short distances between things more instead of crawling now. Crawling his still his preferred method for traveling long distances though. I have taken a lot of video footage trying to get something that I could post on here that had him walking. Here is the best I've gotten so far. His biggest problem right now is that he gets really excited when he walks and he gets really excited when he sees Boss.

Aiden playing peek-a-boo...

or as my family likes to call it-- peep-eye. Luckily, I had the video camera handy this morning after breakfast. This is the first time he has ever initiated the game on his own. He thinks he's really funny. Enjoy!

Aiden and his new toy

Aiden was pumped about the new toy, but he wasn't too sure about the new shoes. He's used to going barefoot so they didn't stay on too long, but at least I finally found some that fit!

The official stats are in...

Aiden had his 9 month check-up today and he is still off the chart on height, weight, and head circumference-- very proportional. He weighed in at 27 lbs, 4 oz and is 31.5 inches tall. Dr. Whipple was very pleased with him and said directing "guh" at the dog counted as language so that gives him 2 words including "uh-oh". Andy and I were pleased to get a good report.

Aiden and I also went to a consignment sale this morning. Consignment sales are great, but trying to fight through a crowd with a stroller is not fun. We managed to discover a few good finds in spite of the obstacles. We got a great 4 wheeler that has the little push pole thing on it and its actually tall enough that Andy can push it without bending over. Although Aiden will have pushing it with his feet down in no time. He was already trying a little today. He has no long pants that fit and I figure it will get cool someday soon so I grabbed a few pairs of size 2T and some size 6W and 7 shoes so he will at least have something to put on when it does get cooler. (New jeans and shoes shown above.)

Aiden also has a new second cousin. Our niece Amanda welcomed a baby girl Tuesday evening, Madelyn Pixie (Maddie). Congratulations Amanda!

A happy, healthy 9 month old

Aiden turned 9 months old on Sunday. I can't believe time just keeps on flying. We go to the doctor this Friday so we'll get his official stats then, but I'm relatively certain he's still off the charts. He is taking a few steps on his own now, but he crawls really fast. Aiden can say "uh-oh" pretty good and he says "guh" a lot which I think is the tail-end of dog. I'm sure he has other words for other things, we just haven't figured them out yet.

Here are a few pictures from over the weekend:

Getting ready for the SEC opener.

Watching the game with Daddy at the Rice's.

Time to read a book in Alexander's chair.

Cozying up to Brent Grote.

Hanging out with Aunt Pat.

Playing outside with Granpa.

Aiden only likes to wear his hat outside.

Aiden loves a stroller ride.

Amanda's Baby Shower

Aiden was able to spend time with his cousins tonight at a baby shower for his cousin Amanda. It was a true "baby" shower with 5 babies under 2 years old in attendance. Andy has six older sisters, so this gives Aiden cousins in a wide age range and that is a lot of fun. Here are some pictures of the babies.

Aloha Matt and Jessie

Matt and Jessie should be getting close to arriving in Hawaii as I type this. Aiden is really excited that they will be getting this well deserved break from the bakery and home renovations. Boss and Aiden got in the aloha spirit today. Have fun Matt and Jessie! We'll be thinking about ya'll and hope you have great weather and safe travel. Can't wait to hear all about it and see all the pictures!

Catching Up

We've been busy since my last post, so here are a few pictures to fill in the last week. Aiden made a return trip to Athens Saturday and did a little tailgating with a few of my oldest friends. He enjoyed meeting them and getting to see and hear all the crazy Georgia fans. He also got to play with his cousin Alexander again which is always a thrill. Aiden spent the night with Granma and Granpa so Mommy and Daddy could go out to dinner with Aunt Jessie and Uncle Matt and Chris and Matt Rice-- always a treat. Boss always enjoys a weekend in Athens because he gets to stay at Pawtropolis, the best doggy-daycare in the free world. The pictures of Aiden and Alexander on game day feature Jessie and Matt's newly renovated living room. It was the first time we had seen it and it looks fabulous!

First Day of Preschool

Doesn't that look like an excited little boy, ready for his first day of school? He had his bag all packed and ready to go. Aiden had a great time on his first day. He went right to his teacher and there were no tears-- at least from him. I managed to make it back to the car before tearing up a little. He was playing and having fun when his daddy came to pick him up. They must have worn him out because he was ready for bed a little early tonight. He's looking forward to going back Monday.

A few cute pictures of Aiden

Here are some pictures of Aiden being silly Monday night with his Dad and cutting the grass in the living room for us.
