Halloween Fun

Halloween has a double meaning for the Zimmerman family. It is also Memaw's birthday so we have twice the reason to get together and celebrate! Andy, Aiden and I went to Memaw and Papaw's tonight for the festivities. Andy had to leave early for the last weekend of Judgment Journey, but he was able to spend a little time with his mom and dad. Aiden went to bed late last night so he got up late this morning which led to him taking his morning nap late which meant that his afternoon nap should've been during party time. Do you see where I'm going with this? We had to high-tail it out of there before it got really ugly. No one wants to see a 29 pound 10 month old pitch a fit. Trust me! Aiden had had a rough couple of days anyway. Thursday morning he was walking in our bedroom, fell and busted his mouth on the side rail of the bed and then at the party he tripped over some toys and busted his head on the coffee table. (He's not a big fan of going around things when he can just go over them, but it rarely works out well.) I am happy to report that he is back on schedule because he went to bed on time tonight. I guess playing with his cousins and the nap on the ride home helped.

The whole crowd wasn't at Memaw and Papaw's but there were still plenty of folks for Aiden to play with: Aunt Linda and Uncle Mike, Aunt Lisa and Uncle Joey, Joey's mom: Karen Mulkey and Peggy, Aunt Leslie and Uncle Jerry, Aunt Chrissy and Uncle David; cousins Donovan, Drew, Holly, and Meghan; cousins-in-law Will and Jason; 2nd cousins Tela, Logan, and Gracie.

On a side rant, our ride home was extended by the 10 minutes it took us to get from the entrance to our neighborhood to our house. Now, before you think we live in a gigantic neighborhood remember that we live in Grantville, GA, and we live on the main street (which is one of 2 streets in the neighborhood) called Calico Loop, and I'd say we are about 7 houses from the entrance. They must have caravaned people in from Alabama to go trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. It was ridiculous. I've never seen so many cars. The problem I finally figured out was that there were cars parked on both sides of the street so only one car could fit through at a time, so the side going out was stuck by the people coming in and then some (I'd like to say idiot) not bright person was trying to turn left onto --wait for it-- Calico Loop (yes, if he had just kept going it would have-- looped around) but couldn't because it was blocked by the people trying to exit the neighborhood. Remind me to stay at Memaw's a little longer next year!

Now for the cute pictures (I know that is the real reason you are here, not to listen to me ramble):

Aiden as the Incredible Hulk (not quite ready for the head-gear)

Now we're in full costume. He does a really cute "Hulk Face" where he scrunches up his nose, but of course I was never quick enough to catch it on film.

Waiting for some golfers to come by.

Superman (Drew) and the Hulk

Superman, the Hulk, and Tela (before she was in character)
Drew is 8 months and Tela is 4.

Holly and Gracie. Gracie is 4 months.

Meghan's kids, Tela (a devil) and Logan (a ninja). Logan will be 3 in December and Tela will be five in March and baby number 3 will arrive in January. Aiden and Logan will ensure Newnan High School has a great offensive line someday.

Trying to get the whole group was a little difficult but I think this is pretty good. There were so many cameras flashing you'd think these were celebrity's babies.

Cute Aiden Videos

This is a video of Aiden playing patty-cake. He does an abbreviated version which is basically, "patty-cake, patty-cake, throw it in the pan." But he's very good at it. This was the first time he'd done it "on cue." I sound kind of surprised because usually he'll just be sitting there and throw his hands apart. Tonight he's been "rolling it 'round," but he hasn't put the roll it round with the rest of it yet.

The next one is a video of Aiden laughing at Andy and me. Andy is shooting the ball into the seat of the Exersaucer and I'm hitting it out from underneath so it pops up in the air. I know, we're hilarious. I'm sure most of you were completely unaware of just how funny Andy and I are.

Aiden's First Jack-O-Lantern

Aiden and I picked out a pumpkin today while we were grocery shopping. He played in his pack-n-play sport while I carved it. He thought that was a lot of fun because he got to be outside. As you can see I am not an artist so go easy on the carving comments. I probably would have been better off if I had just let Boss gnaw on it a little. I did give it a dimple to match Aiden's though.

Here are a few pictures of Aiden in his "big boy" fall clothes:

Weekend Guests

We had a wonderful weekend. Stacie and JT Volz came to visit from Franklin, IN (just south of Indy) and went to Athens with us for homecoming. It's always great to spend time with them and we miss them so much. We all stayed at the recently remodeled Downes Inn. Matt and Jessie were wonderful hosts and we had a blast hanging out with them Friday night and Saturday. Here are Stacie and JT getting ready for kick-off. Go Dawgs!

Saturday was also Mom's birthday so we were able to celebrate that with them and the rest of the family in Athens. Happy Birthday, Granma! We love you!

10 months old

Aiden is 10 months old today! Could someone please explain to me where the time goes? He is walking really well barefooted. This weekend we got him his first pair of "real" shoes for the purpose of walking. I thought we were going to have to go to the extra-wide, but the 6 1/2 wide fit pretty good. He is having a little trouble getting used to walking in them-- he kind of looks like he is walking through cement. Today we took our new shoes to the park in Hogansville to play. He loves being outside and had a great time playing in the dirt. He only kicked his shoes off about 3 times, so I thought that was pretty good. The last time he was weighed at the doctor's office was almost 2 weeks ago and he was 28 lbs, 12 oz so he is still growing at a pretty fast pace.

Aiden and I spent the night with my parents Friday before the UGA-TN game since Andy was staying to work on Judgment Journey. We met my grandmother for dinner and bought his shoes and thanks to his granma, Nanny, and the Carter's outlet he now has enough clothes to make it through fall and winter! I have to say that they do have some great deals at the Carter's store. Here are some pictures from today and the weekend.

My God is Mighty to Save

I know ya'll are used to this being all Aiden all the time, but I have to give ya'll a Judgment Journey update just to brag on God a little bit today. After 2 weekends, God, through His loving mercy and grace, has seen fit to save 1810 people through Judgment Journey! There are still 3 weekends left to go and I can't imagine what the final tally will be. Last night alone over 800 people came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior! Can you even imagine how many people that is?? Andy and I were talking to our pastor on the way to Sunday School this morning and he said that it is roughly half the people going through the journey that are lost. God has really answered a lot of prayers to bring all these lost people to Faith Baptist Church so that they can hear the Gospel. How great is our God!

467

467 is a pretty big number. That is how many souls were saved at the first night of Judgment Journey last Saturday. Judgment Journey is a multimedia presentation that our church puts on every October out on a half mile trail in the woods depicting how the world will be after the rapture according to the book of Revelations. Thousands go through the journey every year with thousands being saved. This year Andy is playing an Angel in the judgment scene that throws people into the lake of fire if their names are not written in the book of Life. It is a very powerful depiction of the tribulation period. I would encourage you to check it out if you are anywhere near west central Georgia. Check out the website to see some video of past productions http://www.judgmentjourney.com/ and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Aiden's Artwork

Aiden has become quite the little artist at preschool. Here are some samples of his handiwork from his first month at preschool.

Spending time with Nanny

Aiden was able to spend time with his great-grandmother today. They had a lot of fun playing together and Aiden showed her all his new tricks. He is walking more than he is crawling now and really getting the hang of it. Nanny brought him a cool, new toy that he thinks is really neat and some fall/winter clothes that will fit the big boy. Aiden also got to see Granma and Granpa and Aunt Sue and Uncle George so that was a treat too.
